Frequently asked questions

Can I change the text that's already in the PDF?

Not directly. You can cover it with a whiteout box and type new text on top.

Does whiteout delete the text underneath?

No. Whiteout hides content visually, but the original text remains in the file and can still be selected or extracted. Don't rely on it to remove confidential information.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Edit PDF runs entirely in your browser: your files are processed on your device and never sent to a server.

Is it free?

Yes. It's free, with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits.

Is there a file size limit?

There's no upload limit, because nothing is uploaded. Very large files are limited only by your device's memory.
