Frequently asked questions
Why are some values in quotes?
Strings like yes, on, 08 or 2024-01-01 would be read as booleans, numbers or dates by many YAML parsers, so they're quoted to stay strings.
Is the YAML equivalent to my JSON?
Yes. Parsing the YAML gives back the same data.
Is what I paste sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and never sends what you type or paste to a server.
Is it free?
Yes. It's free, with no sign-up and no limits.
